Much Ado About The Vampire Dairies Series

Remember when I said I was gonna write to you as often as I could?

I know…

I gotta live up to that expectation now.

Pheew!

I did this to myself.

But hey! Anything that will bring out the consistency in me is my go-to.

Once a week sounds good?

Yeah?

Great!

It’s sealed then.

To today’s topic…

Not sure it’s really a topic, it’s more like me ranting.

I know The Vampire Diaries came out EONS ago.

I know, I know, I’m exaggerating, but in this situation, I have to.

I am just getting to watch it and BOY! LET ME TELL YOU.

I have gone through so many emotions in this series, it’s a wonder I’m still breathing.

Seriously, WTF?!

I went through all the motions with this series.

I mean, I knew it was about vampires and whatnot, but WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK?!

First came Stefan and Damon. Cool brothers, cool cats.

Then came the Originals, witches, werewolves, hybrids, and travelers (which I still don’t understand the difference between them and witches, but we move.).

Wait! That’s not all.

We had Bonnie Bennett, our resident witch, who was fiercely loyal (which I admired about her).

But bro… this chic died and came back twice. I was gobsmacked.

First, she came back as a living/non-living person (??) with Jeremy, then stayed dead (together with Damon) for months and somehow returned as a human?

I was confused, to be honest.

And then there’s Matt.

Matt Donovan. The only human left in his friend group at some point.

And for some unfathomable reason, this guy chose to remain in Mystic Falls.

Like DUDE, MOVE!

You are NOT a tree!!!

Vampires, werewolves, witches, hybrids, literally EVERY supernatural threat imaginable was right there, and he still stayed??

I don’t know if I should be impressed or frustrated.

If you haven’t seen this series, here’s the easiest way to explain it:

A high school girl falls in love with two vampire brothers—Stefan Salvatore and Damon Salvatore.

Simple enough, right?

NOPE.

What starts as a love triangle quickly turns into a supernatural soap opera with a ridiculous amount of twists, deaths, resurrections, and people making the worst possible decisions over and over.

Honestly, it was a good watch, but some of these plotlines?

Whew!

One thing I did love, though?

The way friendships and relationships were tested but never completely broken.

One important thing I learned from this series?

People can fight. They can go through the worst. But as long as both parties are willing to work through it together, they can always get back to how they were.

And that? That was beautiful to see over and over again.

Anyhoo, fav characters

Katherine - lol, this girl made me laugh and made me so mad at once, I loved that.
Damon - his intensity
Caroline - I loved how her character developed over time
Klaus - his arrogance was enticing
Who else am I forgetting? Uhmm…
