Growing up as a child, I read a lot of novels. Romance novels precisely.
I believed that all was fair and just in the world. I believed in knights in shining armor and all that type of thing. I romanticized the heck out of my perceived world.

At the age of 6 or thereabout, I got my first reality check.
I mean, I gotta hand it to my parents though, they did give me a fair warning. I was just too stubborn to heed it. I still remember what Papa always told me;
“Just because you are built like that doesn’t mean everyone is”
I wish I’d listened.
Back to being 6 or thereabout, I got my first stint in the real world, again at 10 or thereabout and again at 12 or thereabout and it just kept going on and on and on.
Now, I don’t know what I think anymore.
Why?
Take the media for example, what do you see in the News?
Instigation, war, political tussle, people starving. I could go on and on.
That’s far-fetched. Let’s bring it closer to what’s near and dear to us —--- LOVE
What do you see in the media today about love?
Instagram, TitkTok, YouTube, Threads….what messages are being pushed out today about love?
Manipulation tactics, gender debates, providers, H- culture topics,
Jesus Christ! Where does it end?
I swear, they took me off the whole podcast thing because almost everyone and their mama who had a podcast kept iterating the same damn thing.
If you are like me who likes to go deep into a topic, I strongly advise you against it right now. It might hurt you or alter the way you see the world.
Do I say that social media ruined my fairytales?
Maybe.
You can’t see the bullshit being put in your face all the time, the people closest to you taking on those internet personalities and making it appear normal and trying to make you accept it as normal without being fucked up in a way. Don’t you think?
It’s like the human race wants to wipe itself out with all this hate and accusations.
This
gender thinks the other gender is bad news and vice versa.
Ugh!
Let me tell you something I discovered though…
Watching videos and listening to podcasts that iterate these beliefs led me to this conclusion:
People who aren’t happy in their relationships are trying to recruit others to join in the madness.
In the end, what do we have?
You guessed right —--- A loveless society. One that can easily be controlled.
So, now we have political sh*t going on, looming wars, children starving and dying, nations building walls, and now, the very essence of humanity, our feelings, the thing that makes us human is crumbling down.
What’s that saying again?
Today we stand, divided, we fall.
Funny, we aren’t seeing the bigger picture, we are just here, bickering and arguing with one another.
It’s like in the movie, Game Of Thrones, we are wasting resources fighting ourselves and not having the foresight to see the white walkers coming with their forces. (If you haven’t seen that series, I highly recommend it. No, not just for this but for the entertainment).
When do we stop the bickering, the hate, the accusation?
Do we want to live in a society where hunger, starvation, and now gender wars keep us apart?
Aren’t humans meant to interact and be interdependent?
Ok, let’s say we let the gender war go on…what kind of society are we creating? Men living in constant fear, and women living in fear too…
Who protects the children?
At this point, I know I am just rambling.
So, now you know why I used to believe in fairytales… The world as we know it isn’t giving much room for such hope.
I’d love to know about you. Is your fairytale alive or is it hanging on a thread like mine? Do you even believe in fairytales?
