A Day In The Life Of A Marketing Executive

My not so raw and uncut routine...

The title gave away what I do with my life, right? Yup, I’m a marketing executive.

Okay, when the girlies make this into a series on YouTube and TikTok, they make it look super fun to watch for us all.

Then there's me...

Talking about my job is fun. However, writing about it is a whole ‘nother ball game.

My job is fun (sometimes), exhilarating even, but trying to capture that in writing feels like taming a wild beast.

Anyway, here goes nothing…

Let’s start with a confession: I’m not one of those people with a perfectly curated morning routine. You know, the ones who wake up, do yoga, meditate, and drink green smoothies.

Nah, not me. I’m not that structured.

Most mornings, I wake up and immediately grab my phone, scrolling through emails and socials while mentally preparing for the day.

Sometimes, I start my day by getting out of bed, brushing my teeth, and smiling into the mirror while saying,

You've got this.

(Okay, that last part was a lie, but it sounds good, right?)

Haha! if I'm being honest, I do not follow a set routine. It’s one of the many benefits of working from the comfort of your home.

By the time noon rolls around, I’m in full work mode. Breakfast? Ain’t nobody got time for that (Not sure how healthy this is but, I skip brekkie)

So, around 12 or 1 PM, it’s finally time for lunch. This is when I might head out to meet a client – either someone I’ve been working with for a while or a new one. We discuss strategies, brainstorm ideas and plan campaigns.

After lunch, it’s back to the grind. This part of the day varies a lot depending on what's on my plate. I might be drafting proposals, creating content, analyzing campaign performance, or juggling a dozen other tasks. It’s hectic, but there’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing a well-crafted strategy come to life.

By the time evening rolls around, I’m ready to unwind. Sometimes that means catching up with whatever is trending on social media, Netflix also comes in handy here as I unwind away from socials by watching movies or taking long walks just to get those steps in.

See? Boring when you write about something like this, but, it's quirky, right? You should have expected this.

There you have it – a day in the life of a marketing executive. It’s not as glamorous as those YouTube and TikTok series make it seem, but it’s quirky, challenging, and ultimately rewarding. And hey, writing about it wasn't so bad after all.
